I'm definately looking forward to D3 for like 3 years now. I've had it preordered for about 7 months. All the screens and videos look terriffic. Doom 3 would probably be terrifying in the dark with those surround-sound headphones. *drools*

AA isn't bad, but the SP stuff SUCKS.

So, what games are you all pleaying ATM, and on what system?

Here's what I've been playing lately, or really should get back to:
    PC:
City of Heroes (99% of overall gaming time is here)
    Uru Expansion
    Need For Speed Underground
Freedom Force (just reinstalled it, gotta find old save games)

    PS2:
    Both Maximo Games

    Xbox:
    Ninja Gaiden (2nd time through)
    Just picked up Munch's Oddysee

    GameCube:
One day I'll pick up Windwaker again and beat it
    F-Zero
    Mario Kart: Double Dash
    The Rules

Really the only game I play on a semi regular basis is mine sweeper.

However back in december(or so) when NFS underground came out a friend invited me over to play. I spent all day playing until I got a couple 'missions' to the end. By then it was about 2 in the morning and I decided it was time to go home. I owned on the drifting tracks. I have always had a nack for racing games but just never have the time to really get into them. I still want to get my hands on an xbox and play project gothem racing as I hear it is pretty nice.

I bought my daughter a game cube and every once and a while I will jump on and play a game with her like mario party or SSX tricky, so I guess you can count that also.

filburt, the fastest ati card is much slower than the fastest nvidia card when it comes to doom.

i think part of that may be due to the fact that ati leaked the tech demo of d3 well over a year ago. id wasn't very pleased when they found out who did it.

it could just be that all of the new technology in the game works better on nvidia products too.

i haven't played too many games recently, although i did finish nfs: underground for ps2 awhile back. i'm waiting on madden 2005 and nhl 2005 for the consoles, and d3/hl2 for the pc.

no other gaming going on at the moment.

glyakk, ssx tricky is AWESOME. it was the game of choice last summer between my friends and i. the tokyo megaplex rocks

well, i take that back. i do play q2 every now and then..

Got to the final boss in MP, can't defeat it. Same for the first Metroid AGB game.

Quake 3 barely runs on a PS2, you think Doom 3 would? Doom 3 is coming out on the Xbox, and even the most technologically powerful console will not look as good as the PC version. Also FPS controls suck on a console relative to a keyboard and moreimportantly a mouse.

Doom 3 is written for OpenGL I believe, and nVidia cards are usually better at OpenGL. Half-Life 2 is using Direct3D and will be faster on ATI cards.

I'm impartial now because nVidia's drivers have been getting really crappy and buggy recently whereas I haven't had a problem with my ATI drivers (shockingly enough).
