Thread: Monitor Query

I have a problem with colour rendition between LCD and CRT monitors. Both have been adjusted using various calibration tools, but what renders as blue on LCD is distinctly purple on CRT. This difference is also apparent using different monitors. Both CRT monitors are however getting on a bit.

Looking at the hex codes and trying different combinations of rgb gives me the impression that the LCD monitors are "true", but can anyone shed some light (pardon the pun) on this?

Anyone know of a good colour calibration tool or site that I could use for further checks.

This is odd as it has always been my experiance that the opposite is true.. that, along with the price, is why I have always favored CRT's.

What have you used to try to calibrate the monitors? An actual calibration tool or software based tools like websites and applications? The only software tool I would use is the tool that comes with photoshop.
