Recently Ive found that firefox seems to be crashing on me alittle to much. I havent got a clue whats causing it... Sometimes opening up a webpage, or trying to stream audio.

Has anyone else found that firefox seems to be alittle unstable?

Firefox *always* crashes on me when first started up and using GMail notifier to access email (IE clicking on the icon bottom right of screen). Not when generally browsing though.

Mine is the Firefox one - and I've had the problem since I started using it (with FF 0.9) so I don't know why

I don't have too many issues wtih FF, it hates reading large .PDF files though... it's almost guarenteed to crash. You'd be surprised how many times a basic regClean, Spyware check and Defrag can help to fix annoying little problems.

Are your problems still true after a fresh re-install of FF?

I agree with the .pdf problems. I tend to save them to desktop & then open them.
I've not completely reinstalled it actually. But I have planned a system reinstallation for after Christmas and so will test it all out then

Im definitely a firefox supporter! But damn it. Sometimes it irratates the living sh*t out of me! In a working week, it probably crashes 5-10 times... Too me, thats way past irratating!

Are there any updates for FF? Im running FF 1.0

Another thing, im my add/remove programs, I have 2 versions of FF installed. 1.0PR and 1.0. Can I uninstall 1.0PR? Or will it rake havoc with my latest version...

I had no problems running 0.9 but have had a lot of crashes on 1.0 and have had to rebuild my user profile a couple of times.

I've actually gone back to 0.9 since and all is well again.

And that's why I use Opera... I even have problems with FF every couple of days and I *only* use it for design testing. And with the minimum amount of extensions, of course.

BTW- Opera 8 (beta) has come out and it's even faster than version 7! There's just one thing that annoys me: The little window that appears with bookmark links when you click on a empty URL input area, that hides all the tabs! OMG that stupid little thing is annoying. But for the rest Opera kicks ***. I've had today 2 power outages, and I simply run Opera and the tab session was there (it's pretty annoying to have 8 open pages and have to manually open each of them again)
