I made a guestbook. I would be grateful if some of you could test getting it set up for running, by following the readme's instructions.

    download at: http://bfsog.co.uk/zips/gbook.zip

    Thanks

its mysql. i know i should not have zipped it up while knowing there was an error, but i had it all working, made a copy, in the copied folder, changed the database connection stuff, and it didnt work.

I put that down to me having 2 folders reading from the same table, but im clutching at horse food.

Any help fixing that problem is greatly, greatly appreciated.

Basiclly follow the steps and see if it works, if not then you can mock me

I got it running as per the readme but it doesn't seem to work.

Comments don't seem to want to add and I can't login as admin.

Ok so I fixed it. I had the wrong name in the install.php.

Anyway, download the new zip http://bfsog.co.uk/zips/gbook.zip

Now, fingers crossed, this will work!

I still cant get it to work...

    I get this error:
    Code:
Notice: Undefined variable: name in C:\********\gbook\addcom.php on line 20
    Please re-fill the form
Im new to php, learning as I go along. So I would dig to get your guestbook to work...So I can learn how to make one!

sorry. its in log.php login = admin. password = adminpwd

jbagley I think you have the old zip file. Because that was what I fixed. Try downloading it again, or go http://bfsog.co.uk/downloads.php and try getting it off there.

Thanks so much for testing it guys, I hope you like it

I'll download the latest zip tonight and take a look. One thing I would suggest just from the initial problems is to expand the form error message - it currently says "please re-submit this form" (or something similar). It would be nicer to have it tell me why and ideally supply me with the form again highlighting what went wrong.

That's what came immediately to mind with the first version but I'll leave some more feedback when I've had a play with the working version.
