    does anyone know how to mod rewrite..?

    i would like to make my website page in following format


    from 'http://domain.com/forums/index.php"

    to 'http://domain.com/index"

    thanks

    actully my need is this


    i want to rewrite my forums urls via mod rewrite

    like
    http://domain.com/forum/index.php?showforum=1

    to

    http://domain.com/forum/forum1.html

    please help for example you can this site itself check current url

    its not working.. though i got code from another fourm here is correct code

    but i have to type manually forum/forum1.html etc.. in address bar

    its not showing when i click on any forum check it out that url.. i am still offerning tutrle dollars if any one can tell me how

    Maybe that's because of the SESSID string that is considered part of the showforum variable, or other url passed variables. Try what I say there.
