Well...I can tell you for a fact that:

    2, 5, 16, 17, 18 and 26 are false.

I'm sure a lot of the others are wrong as well.

I find a good alarm clock works too.

    2. Alfred Hitchcock didn't have a belly button.

    3. A pack-a-day smoker will lose approximately 2 teeth
    every 10 years.

Statistics like these are useless and very hard to confirm. It's not very scientific either.

    4. People do not get sick from cold weather; it's from
    being indoors a lot more.

    TRUE

    5. When you sneeze, all bodily functions stop, even
    your heart!

FALSE. But your eyes will be closed.

    6. Only 7 per cent of the population are lefties.

    FALSE. Surely more???

    7. Forty people are sent to the hospital for dog bites
    every minute.

    Worldwide? Probably more...

    8. Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear
until they are 2-6 years old.

    TRUE. Cartilage and such.

    9. The average person over 50 will have spent 5 years
    waiting in lines.

That's a famous quoute. Don't know if it's true. If you live in England, then it's definitely true

    10. The toothbrush was invented in 1498.

    11. The average housefly lives for one month.

    12. 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year.

    13. A coat hanger is 44 inches long when straightened.

    14. The average computer user blinks 7 times a minute.

    15. Your feet are bigger in the afternoon than any
    other time of day.

Probably. Because you're standing up all the time.

    16. Most of us have eaten a spider in our sleep.

Probably. And sometimes, if you're cycling, you know when you've eaten other things...

    17. The REAL reason ostriches stick their head in the
sand is to search for water.

No. It's because they are facing big problems in life and they hope by the time they come out the troubles will be gone.

    18. The only two animals that can see behind
themselves without turning their heads are the rabbit
    and the parrot.

What about eagles? They have quite wide vision.

    19. John Travolta turned down the starring roles in
"An Officer and a Gentleman" and "Tootsie."

    20. Michael Jackson owns the rights to the South
    Carolina State anthem.

    21. In most television commercials advertising milk, a
mixture of white paint and a little thinner is used in
    place of the milk.

That's the usual rumour, but if they drink it, how can it be paint?

    22. Prince Charles and Prince William NEVER travel on
the same airplane, just in case there is a crash.

    That's probably true.

    23. The first Harley Davidson motorcycle built in 1903
used a tomato can for a carburettor.

    24. Most hospitals make money by selling the umbilical
cords cut from women who give birth. They are used in

    Wikipedia writes...
"In popular mythology, the ostrich is famous for hiding its head in the sand at the first sign of danger. The Roman writer, Pliny the Elder is noted for his descriptions of the ostrich in his historia naturalis, where he describes the ostrich and the fact that it hides its head in a bush. There have been no recorded observations of this behaviour. A common counter-argument is that a species that displayed this behaviour would not likely survive very long. The myth may have resulted from the fact that, from a distance, when ostriches feed they appear to be burying their head in the sand because they deliberately swallow sand/pebbles to help grind up their food."

So the one about looking for water is definitely incorrect as mossoi pointed out.

    Statement 6: 7% of population...

Population of what? The world? [unlikely - more like 50% I'd think] America? [probably correct] Cuba? [definitely not correct] The writer's home town?

I think the 7% figure is referring to left-handedness.

#26 is false. Coca Cola was *orginally* green, not anymore....
#4 There are so many factors contributing to getting sick... not just being indoors....

#4 is just talking about the myth that being cold gets you sick. It's a poorly written question. Being indoors will get you more sick because of A/C systems recirculating the same air (ergo the same germs). There was this kid in HS that always had to leave by lunch because of his allergies. There was a small amount of mold in the vents and it would inevitably get to him every day.

As for the lefty thing, 7%'s about right.

    Well, Im left-handed!

Is the 7% according to the global population?

That means that about 420 million people are left handed... I can believe it, but it doesnt make sense that it can be so few...
