This is a day of first for me - as this is my first time on this forum and my first time venturing into the world of web design. Forgive me if I'm posting this question in the wrong spot.

I've inherited the job of updating my company's website along with my new job. I have the IP address, login and password. But beyond that I don't know where to go to make the changes. My understanding of HTML is basic but I think its comprehensive enough to manage what I need to accomplish initially. I know the site was created in Dream Weaver.

Do I need to access the site via Dream Weaver to make the changes or is there a way to update the site (ie. basic text changes) right from my browser?

A couple of ways to do this.
    1) You can open up your HTML editor and upload to the host via FTP or check the host and see what options they allow.
    2) You can open DreamWeaver and upload directly to the host through that (again, this is dependent upon their transfer options). Also, along with that DW offers pretty straight forward and easy to use this would probably be the best option considering the site was created in DW.
Even though you feel your HTML is enough to manage, you still may want to go through DW, as even in that you will have an HTML edit view as well as the WYSIWYG interface.
    Good luck.......
