    ...that forms XML in PHP, is read by the C# application, and notifies the user of certain events. I have the strangest code accidents.

    (hint: it can notify you of much more than private messages)

    Looks cool. Do you plan to offer it as an MSI? Would be a neat tool to offer as a plug-in to vb3. You could have a form on the thick-client portion where users can just add the Forum's root URL (e.g. www.webdesignforums.net/) and the tool automatically communicates with ALL of their vb forums and keeps them notified of any updates periodically.

    The heartbeat-rate should be administered from the forum's admin cp, though, so that admins can limit how often users can "hit" their XML updates.

    I'll distribute it however Visual Studio.net 2003 Professional wants, which probably means an MSI wrapped around a shell like most .NET programs seem to be.
