I'm having a problem with my router that needs new firmware. So I go to Linksys's site and their FTP site. Both are down. Convenient?

Which router? FYI, Linksys support are dumbasses. Called them 2 weeks ago, WiFi randomly going down, found out activating (I can deactivate it later) the MAC clone turns on WiFi again. 2 Linksys techs said it's the ISP. Can't see how the **** the ISP could control my router turning on and off WiFi...

Funk Linksys. Just hope the update I got last week will permanently fix it.

I called Linksys as well when WEP wasn't working (encryption off and WPA were fine). I had to repeat myself like 20 times, and they kept avoiding the question; I had to demand that they answer the question (which they never did). I have since switched to third-party firmware.

For everybody saying how good they are, I'm not sure I agree anymore. I think I'll try Netgear in the future (god, not D-Link).

I use a Jensen router and access point in my home network (5 year old set up, before access points and routers were combined into one unit), and a Netgear (108Mbs) in my condo in Oslo (one year old).

At home I have 4 machines connected, and at the shared condo in Oslo, we are up to 9 people connected simultaneously.

They have both been working flawlessly

    EDIT:
So in short, I can recommend both Jensen and Netgear.
(I have a couple of collegues who uses D-Link, and based on their experiences I can understand your scepticism.)

Just stay away from D-Link whatever you do!

Oh yeah, forgot I can't set up encryption at all It's also an SRX router (and adapter), so I shouldn't NEED a line of sight, yet I do... Gonna try to call them again soon and rip them a new one.

What the hell, I can't get WPA to work properly, at least according to my tablet which refuses to connect. Thoughts?
