How do I disable images in my email preview in Outlook 2002? I don't want spam email with image darts to connect to back to their server and confirm that they've got a good email address.

    Hi.

I done some digging and in Outlook 2003 there is a "Read all mail in plain text" however this feature is not in 2002..

I did find this though, http://groups.google.co.uk/group/mic...503835551cd8db

That goes through how to change your registry, but always backup your registry before making a change.

    Hope this helps.

I would shut down the preview pane from the views menu and use auto preview instead. Auto preview is plain text and therefore much safer.
    End of Line.

It's extremely dangerous to allow images in e-mails. They can be used by spammers to verify your e-mail address.

I read absolutely everything in plain text.

Did you ever consider giving up of Outlook and give a shot at Mozilla Thunderbird? The software has an option to turn off all the images... not to mention that it is a great software...
