So Trolltech released Qt 4.2, the latest version of their C++ GUI toolkit, today. These guys have applied a good subset of CSS to application interface design (as can be seen in the documentation). It kicks ***. They're working on official bindings for Java (though I'm not sure what kind of massochist would actually want to program in Java), and there are bindings already for Ruby and Python and several other languages, though they're probably not in line with version 4.2 quite yet.

Anyway, this is seriously kick-*** technology :-)

XUL. Unfortunately I hate all the implementations of XUL so far.

    'Cause they suck :-)

Don't get me wrong, XUL is cool. But it's not a fully compiled interface. Yeah, there's probably some overhead involved in applying stylesheets the Qt way, but the widgets themselves are compiled C++, not interpreted XML. Not quite the same thing in my book, and a little more useful (especially on Linux, where XUL is SLOW AS HELL, and especially considering that Qt also supports a good subset of SVG, as well).
