I am just wondering. I know a lot of people in this forum ask if it is actually possible to make a living with an online business. I would like to know who in this forum actually makes a living from their online business.

My website www.mojacity.com makes around $2,000 a month but we are young and only serving one city. We plan to expand to many other cities and making a living off of the site.

If you make a living off of your website or a good chunk of money please share your story? I am just curious?

Well I too am very young (and consequently not owning a company), but I can say I make an acceptably large amount of money (mostly thanks to my homemade CMS). I serve only one city, but since most of my referrals come from family, friendship or work ties, I find myself going everywhere. Freelancing has its benefits, after all.

About expanding, that should only be made an option if you're sure people in your new city trust you. My concern is that since your main office is now in a different city from a branch, things like technical issues or high-priority meetings might get tossed around and become a management nightmare.

Right now, I make a decent amount of money making websites for other people, but I'm also developing a few for-profit community sites on my own that I should be able to make a living off of (and drop the web design business altogether).
