Passing 72-272 (equivalent of 70-272) for free FTW.

So now I can say I'm certified. The only problem is all it means is I can configure IE and troubleshoot Remote Desktop. But it sounds cool, doesn't it?

Aaaw, I was hoping for another advertisement post that you would've butchered, filburt.

But that stuff has nothing to do with actual applicable knowledge, IMO... it's just another title.

Can't you get an MCP for something as simple as MS Office knowledge?

Nope, only for tests towards actual technical skills.

Actually, Microsoft considers Office knowledge a technical skill...

Microsoft Word exam? That would mean my sister had enough knowledge to become an MCP when she was in high school!

There should be some sort of certification for knowing how to use a real shell and UNIX tools properly... A person who knows how to use pipes, sed, grep, cat, echo, >, and friends to great effect is a person to be reckoned with.

My "Unix" teacher in college (he was a grad student IIRC), couldn't do half that crap. First test, multiple choice. Second test... was the first test, but instead of MC, it was fill in the blank. Same crap went for the third and fourth test.

Needless to say, we schooled his ***. Oh, did I mention this was all under the COMP SCI program?
