    is it just me or is this browser just ugly and takes too much space on the screen?

    For me, it's worse than that. MS sang from the rooftops about all of the great new technologies it supports, yet I still find myself having to use conditional comments for things webkit and mozilla have supported for years.

    IE9 coppied many of it features from Google Chroom.
    Its now also a good browser, but its tab in line with URL box is something that is not appreciatable.
