I built my system about 2 months ago now

    ----SPEC----
    Gigabtye GA-7VAXP-A motherboard
    Athlon XP 2.6
    512 DDR
    80 gig HDD
    Radeon 9000
    DVD ROM
    CDRW 48X24X48X
    ----SPEC----

and since i've had it i've had a few problems

    1) i turn my computer off as in start and shutdown and about 2 or 3 mins later it reboots itself (happend 5 or 6 times)

    2) i can play 1 of my games for a while and then suddenly it will crash ( most common and it happend today on my new game )

    3) monitor goes on sleep (but i can still hear my game playing through my speakers)

I've got new drivers for my motherboard, and graphics card im all :S it did this even when i had the drivers which origionaly came with my system.. I've cleaned windows xp god knows how many times. also i have hardly any programs running in my background...

has any1 got any ideas? All i can come up with is that my graphics card needs swoppin o and this is my first radeon card lol

    My two suspects:
    1. Overheating (try underclocking)
    2. Too small a power supply (remove all unnecessary devices)

Yeah, doesn't sound like a video card problem at all.

I have a Radeon 9000 pro 128 myself Never had a problem with it.

doesnt seem to be over heating and its runnin fine with windows etc.. it hasnt restarted since i reformated last week but its still crashin during game play

i dont have anything added extra to ma motherboard.. it's got a HDD, cdrw, dvdrom, and a graphics card added to it... cuz sound and network are onboard... im but it does have firewire, raid and 4 extra usb ports with it but they come with the motherboard...

Not necessarily; the new Radeon cards draw a ton of power and his power supply might be too weak as well.
