Help!
I keep getting the dreadfull pop-up ads for everything from looking for a old classmate to you know what! Yes Insurance!
Everytime I open up my Internet Explorer 6, I get between one to two pop-ups, then occasionally they pop-up while I'm here.
I know filburt1 hates the p-ups just as much as we do, so they are not from here.
I checked my msconfig files, my cookies, my startup file, and my browser plugins. nothing helps.
I have also scanned my computer several times with housecall to check for viruses, backdoors etc. nothing.
I am going NUTTS!
Please help guys!

I will give $10 Turtle Dollars to the person who finally gets rid of them, I am even willing to goto MSN Messenger and allow you access to my computer to help. ;-)

Its probably the programs Kazaa installs. Do you have Kazaa?

If you do, get rid of Kazaa and get Kazaa lite (http://www.kazaa-lite.tk)

Kazaa is a POS by itself. Use Kazaa Lite if you must use it at all.

After you uninstall Kazaa (which really doesn't, BTW), download and run Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/).

It is all the extra programs that cause the pop-ups. Can't remember what they are called though. I had the same problem.

But you have to find the names of the extra programs it installs in the add/remove program list to get rid of them.

It is Kazaa - at least thats what happened on my PC. but from my experience, when you uninstall it (as filburt1 rightly says) it doesn't uninstall the extra programs.

On a seperate note, does anyone know anything about "Viamixer"? It runs in the background on my Pc (with XP Home Sevice Pack 1).
