Hello, I just signed-up today and plan to participate in online discussion as much as I can. Anything web-design has always been an interest of mine. The company I work for has asked me to get involved in discussion with people in the industry, so what better place to start. I hope I can become well informed with use of the knowledge provided on this forum.

    -Sean

Welcome, Sean. Please take a moment to read the rules, and I hope you will find your needs met here.

Since your company has asked you to get involved in this type of discussion, are you able to do so on company time? If so, lucky you, and do they have any openings?

Thank you for the warm welcome and thank you for linking the rules page. I am in fact posting on company time! It is not much though. I probably spend roughly an hour a day making posts, replying, and looking up information so that I may become better educated on relevant subjects. Hopefully I can translate the information I discover here to make myself more of an asset to my company.

Sounds like you are already an asset. What kind of info are you looking for?

Well my job consists of tasking out projects to our development staff regarding website designs, html work, some flash items (even though we are trying to distance ourselves from flash), and other general updates. I manage people, but it would be better if I knew more about the items that my people are working on. Our company has developed our own website editing operating system over the past 12 years which makes it easy anyone from the design/html noobie (like myself) all the way up to the advanced, creative +20 years of coding experience guru to create and maintain a website. This is an AMAZING tool, but it makes it easy for me to not have to learn, which is bad.

This forum looks like a perfect place for being able to gain information on any of these subjects. If you know of a good place to start, that would be extremely helpful!

    Thanks,
    -Sean

    Just kidding, welcome to WDF!

The company I work for is called "BannerView.com" and we specialize in anything regarding websites. We do everything except write the content. And yes, it is defiantly nice to be able to get paid to checkout forums!
