I'm having trouble with the Newsgroups on Outlook Express.

I used to be able to search for all the newsgroups that started with the prefix of .alt and so on.
But now it won't let me search any or when I do search, turns up 0 results. The only newsgroups I'm able to subscribe to are those that my ISP has provided.

Is there any way to search all or reset the entire thing so I can re-configure it.

    Or would I have to un-install and re-install... ?

    Thanks.
    Chris

The newsgroup server that you subscribe to (your ISP) can limit which newsgroups they want to allow access to (e.g. alt.binaries.pornography).

    Sorry, kid :-D

Can't you reply to newsgroups in the groups section of Google, though?

Well, through OE you will have access to ONLY those groups which are on that server. Some ISPs don't host the whole alt.binaries, and others more selective in dropping the groups.

You can use Google, but I don't think they host any binaries either.
    There and Back Again :Ogre:
