...I am thinking of taking up golf as a hobby. What I want to know is what specific club would I need to practice whacking the ball for miles (it's called driving, isn't it?).

    Thanks

Well i dunno about the sport of whacking the ball and getting in the cart then repeating those steps a few times till it goes into a little hole. but im sure doing that 18 times a day has got to be fun .
Ive heard its pretty expensive to get clubs and go out to the green every morning, but if you can afford it go for it.

P.S. You seem to be having a avatar dellema is this blocked JR 1 the 1 your keeping?

    Yes

I want to start by practicing driving in an open space before I go to any courses. I just want to know what club I need.

Maybe you'd like to visit a Driving Range - a place where you can take shots at the ball and see how far it goes, all day long.

Or you can go to a shooting range, which is like chucking golf balls that are made of metal and go really really fast

Actually, they're made of clay if I'm not mistaken.

Or you can pull out an old Nintendo, and play Duck Hunt! Just for pete's sake, please don't shoot the dog...

Look at Transio's avatar, it's trying to jump out of that post it's so embarassed.

As far as golf goes, I LOVE going to the driving range, but I've never actually played real golf in my life. I just like whackin' the hell outta the ball. Then I go over to the mini putt-putt, putt the ball through the clown's mouth and call it a day. That's MY game of golf. :-p
