    I just bought myself a new Tower with a Pentium4 2.70ghz Processor, 512MEG RAM, 120gb HDD. etc..

It all works fine but when i installed a copy of Windows98 Second Edition it didnt install MS Office!
I have used the same CD on other PC's and Office was installed fine but for some reason it just isnt working for me.. I cant even find the Office files of the CD...

I dunno whats goin on! I like Win98 more than WInXP but what do you guys think? Should i upgrade to Win2K or just have another shot at WinXP?

    thanks

I say go for WinXP its so much easier to customize w/o having to hack the windows resources like in 2k and it usually runs smoother/quicker w/ less occurances of the bsod. That's just my opinion

Either stay with 98, or upgrade to XP (home or professional - pro is very good though) Whatever you do, don't touch 2k if you want customizablity (if that the word) And it's a pretty shoddy system with no real base to it like 98 or XP.

As it has often been said - Windows 2K was released early and in a hurry.

Win2K isn't a bad operating system, it's actually very stable and secure. You were right about the customizability though.

I think you are mistaking Win2k for WinME. Millenium Edition is just a buggier version of 98 with a new name.

umm... okay. Win2k has been M$'s most stable OS to date... granted on specific hardware configurations it has problems, but overall it's a great OS. XP on the other hand is like an autistic windows.. with flashing lights and big bubbly interface, feel like I'm at a carnival, not a computer

I much prefer the Gnome interface.. but stay on windows because of games and photoshop

skirlin>> WinME isn't an OS.. it's a bug. They accidentially released a cumulation of M$'s bugs in one package and mislabled it an OS

i would never get WinME so its ok.
I will probably go with Win2K because i dont like the 'artistic' feel that comes with WinXP.
And i can get Win2k for cheap..
