I am trying to apply for a web design internship and I would like to highlight a few of my soft skills in the cover letter or resume.

These are the "generic" soft skills that I was able to come up with. But what are better alternatives to mention? If I mention these in my cover letter I know that won't be enough. I was able to gain these skills after participating in several communication classes: pr, pr writing, web design project, integrated marketing campaign.
    • Able to multi-task
    • Organized
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Team player

For an intern position, that's all you really need. If they have higher expectations, you probably don't want the job, as most intern positions are low paying ( if at all ), but part of what you get out of it is real world skills learning ( including soft skills, that you may think you know, but ... ).

Don't pad your résumé / application with things you can't back up. I once had an intern that said he knew Visual Basic , wasn't given the job because of it, but a project came along, I thought perfect time to break out the VB skills.... NOT... He didn't get the job because of it, but he was shown the door because he said he could, but obviously couldn't. He just thought he could get away with listing something very few people actually use these days.

Had another that claimed he could do all sorts of things ( automation ) using command lines.

Never made it through the interview.

Do you have any personal projects on the go?
Because that will help as 'real work experience'.
