    Mission Accomplished?

Well, ladies and gentlemen, based on the recent traffic around here and the other forums I'm on (which are experiencing a similar lack of traffic), it appears we've finally driven off the idiot hordes of "SEO Ninjas" and answered all of the design and development questions there are to ask. Well done, all.

Not until we're all done with Rob Ford. By the way, he's back, he's better, and he's really sorry.

No, really...he is. And he stiffed the Toronto media today to prove it after he told them he was going to do it.

So I had to look this guy up. I must say it was completely worth it. You should cut him some slack, though. He totally went to rehab, guys.

Oh, he's great from a purely entertainment point of view.

And now the scary part, and the part that most of the downtown Toronto intellectual bourgeois core refuses to acknowledge...he's "normal" in relative terms. If you look at the list of people running against him in the October 27 mayoral election, his behaviour doesn't really stand out. There's a porn star, a dominatrix, a Nazi, a clown, a weed activist, a drunk, two musicians, a career political trough feeder, a guy who steals guns and ammo, and a Rogers executive who ran as the Conservative leader in the provincial elections in 2007 and lost to the current Liberal Premier of Ontario in his own riding when she was a rookie MPP...but that's okay because they're friends now and have a transit plan. There's even an 18-year-old running for mayor, and she's running a better campaign than any of the rest of the figurative and literal clowns.

I'm making absolutely none of this up.

Look at that list and tell me how Rob Ford is the worst of the evils. Seriously. And America...if you ever think your political climate is toxic, you've got nothin' on us, man.

Oh yeah, and the bonus candidate...Sarah Thomson. The white Jewish woman who tries to convince everyone she's a black Jamaican man (she has dreads that go down to her waist...no, really!) and who insists that everyone in the city can have free Internet despite there being absolutely no infrastructure whatsoever to support it.

I challenge anyone, if for no other reason than I'm a masochist, to find any election on any level as insane as this one.

It has its own Wikipedia page. It has to be pretty up there. The best US one I can remember was the 2011 Chicago Mayoral race, which was basically a race to see who could be furthest left.

Yeah, Chicago's up there for sociopathic strangeness. I love how they publish car accident death stats on electronic signs over the Dan Ryan. Angriest place I have ever been. And Rahm Emanuel's a real piece of work.

With that said, I think I'd still give Toronto the bizarre edge because of volume of stupidity and more blatant passive-aggressive politicking.
