    Music While Working

I like to listen to music while working. Different sounds for different days. Some days a simple rock playlist or turn-of-the-century rap/hip hop. Others, I even find myself putting on music I would never otherwise listen to, like dubstep.

Anyway, just curious what everyone else does.

I'm currently jamming out the the Tony Hawk 2 soundtrack: https://open.spotify.com/user/steqhe...BPjvLANtxxK5Zj

Similar to you, except that it's not a day-by-day thing..it's a "whatever I bloody well want to hear at that moment" thing. Similar to my gym playlist.

I'll listen to Jimmy Buffett (a LOT of Jimmy Buffett), I'll listen to any type of rock (metal, southern, soft, hard, whatever) from the late 60's - early 70's and beyond, I'll listen to rap/hip hop, I'll listen to crowd chant songs, I'll listen to a lot of folk type stuff along the lines of John Prine, I'll listen to country. My rule is if it's good and has a good string melody to it or it's something original, I'll probably listen to it.

One other type of rock that I've discovered lately is djent, in particular a guy named Andrew Baena. As soon as you hear his covers of songs, you can pretty much never go back to the originals. Baena is the guitarist; a guy named Brian Storm is the vocalist (not so crazy about him, but his style fits Baena's playing style):

Isn't that great? And almost no one knows about it. I stumbled upon it completely by accident one day.

I like to listen to a lot of classic rock or every type of music that helps me generate work and think creatively. but yeah, it changes from day to day the type of music that I want to listen.

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority here but typically work music involves Brain.fm, movie themes or things like video game music. Not sure why that is but it helps productivity ten fold for me. Most of the time I'f im listening to classic rock I'll end up wanting to find more songs to add to the current playlist.

Love to hear some songs from Kings of Convenience while working. I am pretty picky for some musics since sometimes it could be so distracted for my work.
