I've always been a mac fan.. but once I stareted buying my own computers... of course I bought PC's... I sure didn't have that extra grand to buy a mac that had few software titles available (games ). Anyays.. .I've been noticing that macs are really coming through. With the success of the iPod and iTunes, Apple has become a savior in a dirty business... Apples now claim the second fastest computer in the world, at a fraction of the cost of traditional mainframes...and in a world where viruses roam free over Windows machines and Microsoft never updates, Apple's been putting out upgrades to their OS X like crazy, and never comprimising security. Not to mention, at $20 an upgrade.. it's actually reasonable to upgrade your OS.

Anyone else noticing that apple's are going to be the next big thing?

I doubt it, it is not cost effective for businesses. (BTW, I am just guessing, but I assume this is true).

Panther is $130, not $20. $70 for academic.

$20 for upgrades... not the full version. It's a special upgrade if you bought the last upgrade blah blah blah, some time limit stuff, or you have a new mac.

    I suppose a 1.3 year old iBook wouldn't count.
