And I'm looking for a new email program. Outlook the other day decided that it will randomly start using it's rules, and randomly duplicating messages. It's pissin me off especially since one of my accounts I keep a whitelist (which also works occasionally) so I can't handle getting that much junk mail. Any suggestions?

Strange, what are your rules? Are you sure you haven't forgot to put in exceptions for some so it doesn't put the mail in two different folders?

    Well... I have many rules.
One says if it's from this account, put it in this folder, and another one of those (three accounts, three folders)

Then my other rule is if message isn't from this sender and from this account, put it in junk email.

It discards all rules now and then just for fun. Then sometimes it executes the rules halfway... and sometimes most of the way.. it's really annoying.

Sounds like Outlooks knackered. If you get the rules in the right order and with the right exceptions it should be very reliable. Have you tried re-installing? Just export your email/rules first if you don't want to lose them.

I've never had a problem with rules... just put them in the proper priority

I had a very similar problem a while ago, rules not working, when they worked, only half of them did was they were supposed to do. Turned to be the order of the rules was causing some conflict.

I did set out to find a new client (and am still looking) but so far nothing I have found that is as feature rich or usable as outlook. yep, MS spoiled me LOL

But see the rules worked for like 2mos... then randomly stopped. I'm trying out the new thunderbird. Seems to be working pretty good even though it's FAR from a final product (0.3, where 1.0 is final)
