Well, now that 2 of the latest games have refused to run on my PC becuase of the video card, I'm in the market for a new one.

I have Nvidia GForce 2 GTA (approx. 2 years old), on an ELSA board (which has gone under, I believe).

Anyway, need recommendations as I have not kept up with latest video cards and chips.

    thanks

The Radeon 9800 and such are supposedly the best you can reasonably get. I still prefer nVidia due to my past experiences with horrible ATI drivers.

I wanna go with nVidia as well, been using their cards as long as I can remember, except for my first PC, which had S3 or something.

ATI 9600 XT is sweet (Comes with voucher for half life 2) after seeing the lag go away in CS when you see smoke, I'm leaning in towards ATI now, previously i was NVIDIA peep

I was looking into video cards and seems like I'll also need to replace my motherboard to take advantage of faster AGP ports.

I'll take a look at ATI 9600 XT, thanks.

Athlon TBird 1GHz on Asus A7V (KT133 chipset). I went throug the manual again, seems like it has AGP 4x and Radeon 9600 XT does support AGP 4x. So that might be a good choice.
