    Don't worry, I managed it with Winzip. It didn't work the first time...

    Yes, you can save a lot of time by doing the untarring on the server rather than at the client...

    ie. FTP tgz file to server, untar it -> 30 seconds
    Use Winzip to uncompress file at client, FTP all the files individually -> a lot more than 30 seconds.
