    It's quite a common thing to be seen on web sites now, but if you are looking to create your own here is a tutorial that gets a similar result.

    Its nice and simple and is also effective.

    Hi,

    I find Listamatic to be a nice resource for alternative style navigation bars if your into following trends/web standards, they beat using slow javascript effects for rollovers.

    If you can bare with long articles then this Article may also interest you.

    They're not so bad to use when you get over the troubles of browser compatability. They don't have the wow factor that flash seems to acheive though.
