urm, this is the non-web design discussion forum.btw isn't this thread in the wrong place? This must be a non-webdesign discussion forum...

(about ms notepd)
I lkove notepad, I use HTMLkit now but still use notepad for a loot of other things, you just cant beat the freedom and flexebility that you get with it. I always feel like a WYSIWYG editor is doing stuff behind my back...
I dont know whateverybody has against it to be honest. So what if it has no features, where are the days of web design when there were no WYSIWYG editors? Have web designers and developers become so lazy they need programs to do all the work for them?
Plus the sense of satisfaction achieved when you know you have made your website purely by you, 100% your work - its unbeatable. And not thinking most of it was done by the computer.

Well does this look like a non-web design discussion thread? What do you use to make your website?![]()
It's not that people have become lazy (OK, a little lazy), but It's just doing extra work without any advantage. It takes more time and the antique typos come in play.Originally posted by Blackdragonhide

It does give advantage, knowing its yours.
Ironhacker, I see what you mean

But to contribute my 2 cents - I use Notepad++ and HTML Kit - I stay away from Dreamweaver as much as possible because it tends to bloat the code, and if I do have to use it I stick to code view because the deign view sucks like an industrial Shop-Vac.

LMAO... true... ive found that dreamweaver tends to over do it sometimes.. but im new to all this and being able to see physically what i'm coding helps me get a better understanding owhat im doing and what mistakes to avoid. i also have notepad++ but havent heard of html kit before... is it free? maybe ill google it just to see. oh!... and yes i knew this thread is ancient... but im trying to learn as much as i can so im reading through as many topics in this site as i can...:coffee:
HTML kit is free and it has a better preview pane than the design view in DW. It actually shows things where they're supposed to be.Originally Posted by Adrian Sane, post: 210669

I'm gonna try HTML Kit now because multiple people have recommended it...
But so far I do like Notepad++
