Any good tips/tricks/tweaks for Windows?? I love finding new recipes to try..

Ok, here are a few that come to mind right now.

    Windows Shortcuts
Did you know you can use the [Windows] button as a shortcut to many crucial system applications? These are my daily combinations for fast access:

    [Win]+E - Opens (File) Explorer
[Win]+R - Opens the Run dialog
    [Win]+F - Find file
    [Win]+D - Show desktop
    [Win]+[Break] - System properties
[Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Esc] - Task Manager (on newer versions)

Original tip: Improve your Run dialog
I invented this tip. It allows you to set short names for your programs, so that they can be easily accessed from the Run dialog.

To set up Run dialog (Windows+R) shortcuts on XP

    Make the directory "c:\tools\".

Go Control Panel -> System -> Advanced (tab) -> Environment variables (button) -> System variables and edit the value of "Path" by APPENDING:

    Code:
    ;c:\tools\
Note the ; in the beginning, this is required! Also note that you must APPEND this!

Next, copy all your favourite shortcuts or make new shortcuts to you fav. programs and copy them to c:\tools\. Shorten the shortcut names so that they are easy to type. Now you just need to press Win+R, and type the name to launch any file, folder or program!!!

    Don't forget the PowerToys
If you're using WinXP, the new PowerToy graphing calculator is pretty cool, with high precision options...

    You missed:
    [Win] + M - Minimize all windows
[Win] + L - Super fast user switch (if you have fast switching enabled)
[Win] + U - Bring up the annoying Narrator

and don't forget the alt+ F4 for quick program termination.
