AIM is blocked at my workplace--although SSH, Yahoo Messenger, FTP, and other fatal ports are still open (long story, but somebody was stupid enough to send an unencrypted document over AIM and get caught).

So, how would I go about using AIM (or, in this case, iChat, but either would work) even though it is blocked by the firewall? I can always use my home computer as a tunnel if need be, but have no idea how to do so.

    ssh -L you@sshhost
Then, open AIM and change the server (in Connection settings) to localhost.

EDIT: Or just change the port number to 5191 - apparently listens on all ports.
