I'm currently using Norton Anti-Virus but recently the program has been playing up for some reason and I am sick of it. I was wondering what the best Anti Virus software is that any of the member on here have used and would recommend.

    Thanks,
    Daniel.

The only other thing I can recommend off the top of my head is McAfee, but in my experience, NAV is the better of the two.

    I use AntiVir - http://www.free-av.com/

I have used this for a couple of years now and It's always been good. Seems to catch everything.

NAV is by far the best. Try AVG http://www.grisoft.com/ .

In your opinion. You can't just say "X is the best" when you are talking about any type of software.

I've found NAV to slow my PC down and cause problems with other software.

NAV has become bloatware over the years.

I currently use Grisoft's free AVG, but am looking at other solutions right now (and those solutions exclude anything by Symantec or McAfee).

OK, NAV slows down the comp, but a virus slows it down even more. The latest versions are one worser than the other. I use NAV 2001, it doesn't sucks up too many resources

I think that the best non-free AV besides NAV or McAfee is Kaspersky. I've been using it on other computers than mine, and I've got no problem with it. It's faster too

All I need is a basic anti virus program that will catch everything and also that I can clean my programs and check them with.
NAV is good but it's letting me down and I don't have time to mess around with it anymore. I have re-installed it time and time again.
McAfee is a no no as well. My buddy has that and it seems to be rubbish.
