    Hello...

I'm a 'new' person doing some minor level web work for my company. We have an intranet site which I've been asked to provide a link to an internal application.

However, I'd like the link to NOT open up a question box 'do you want to run, or save the .exe file'. Everyone in the company knows what the file is and would want to. I'd actually like to prevent the endless calls to our Tech support folks asking what to do in this situation.

What I have at the moment is...

    Code:
    <a href="file://S:\power\workload.exe">Testing</a>
Any assistance would be wonderful.... If its not possible that is also fine, I'd just like to figure it out...

I think (but I'm not sure as I don't really know about this kind of stuff), that you'd have to link to the file, let them download, then use it. I can't see any other way...

Yes, I don't believe it's set up to work that way directly, as otherwise virus writers would have a fit of fun with it.

I'm inclined to agree, most of my research has lead me to that conclusion...

Is there a way I can split the turtle bucks?

    Thanks...
