I have a client who I am doing some work for at the moment. We have the site all up and running but a lot of the sites target audience are likely to be spanish and french as well as english.

I need something to translate the pages of the site. Something a bit like google's translator but better if possible and one that you can actually add onto your site.

The google and altavista ones are examples. I was hoping some other people on the board may be able to help?

    Thank you.

Unfortunaly I have not found any easy way out of this. Online translators are sufficient to get the 'gist' of what is ment in another language, But for full comprehension they all fall very short. There are so many things you have to consider such as sentence structure, literial tranlation, spelling errors, similar words, etc..

You really cannot beat the human brain for this job. In my experiances its just best to get somebody reputiable to tranlate your copy. And get some people fluent in that language to check the copy, because you will not know without other people's input if it still conveys the same message as it the orgional did. Its hard enough to put 'marketing spin' in one language that ive known all my life without having to convey the same message in another language to another culture that I have very little fimilarity with.

With I had more useful advice.

If you were wanting a german translator, then I could help!

But as you aren't, I can't think of anything to suggest really, other than www.freetranslator.com, which offers a paid service to be translated by human's, although it is an American site and somewhat expensive.
