    Hey Everyone!

    I'm a little new to website design but have taken the plunge and bought Macromedia Studio MX and Adobe Photoshop CS...

    To break me into the design works i've downloaded a web template from zymic.com and loaded it into Dreamweaver MX. However, it has a set navigational menu on the left and a main content page which i presume is a frame in the centre, and was wondering how you just change the content in the frame when clicking on a nav. buttons without reloading the whole page.
    In other words i only want to treat the centre frame as each new page.

    Sorry if this sounds amatuerish but i'm a real newbie

    Thanks Guys!

    I wouldn't want to be using frames anyway to be honest....

    Set the "Window" value to the name of the frame you wish to target the link to:

    on (release) {
    getURL ("link.htm", "framename");
    }

    Hope that helps

    Thanks cladode...

    Where do i set the value of "window"?
    How do i create a new page that just consists of that one centre "main content" frame?

    Oh...Just realised that Dreamweaver says that its actually a "table" not a frame, if thats not the same thing.

    Sorry for all the questions but i really am just starting out.

    Thanks again

    In flash, select the button, and add the basic action " getURL ". three fields will appear:

    URL:
    Window:
    Variables:

    Set the url to the page you want to open in the center frame, and set the "window" value to "content"

    As for the center main content, use an iframe.

    Code:
    <IFRAME name=content src=initialpage.htm width=400 height=400 frameborder=1 scrolling=auto>
