    When someone says MODERN LOOK what do they really mean??

    I think others will (and should ) add to this, but in my book, a modern looks is a white background, thin lines, sans serif fonts (very important), clean and uncluttered, with LOTS of space. Notice that I said nothing about colours, because I think this varies too much.

    I always think of a modern website as a modern house. Contemporary, if you will. Clean, non-cluttered. Maybe light colors. Pastel colors.

    I'm sick of scanlines, by the way. They seem to be cliche now. You can have a "modern" look without them. Maybe I shouldn't be talking though because my site has a background grid...

    Or perhaps "modern" is a site that doesn't look like it was made in 1998.
