Has anybody read this book? Does it really help putting into practise what I have learnt from "HTML Utopia Desining without tables using CSS"?

I've picked up the basics, and now I need guidance on how to actually put everything into practice by designing a full website in CSS with graphics etc.

I haven't read the book, but I've looked at it a bit (just didn't want to drop that much money on it then, so I got an XML book). I don't know how well it puts the concepts into practice though.

Eric Meyer's books seem to put CSS to practical and graphical use though. You may like to check into those.

I am reading it. Not finished yet but so far I think it is good.

There is a lot of design talk in there and they cover bits of design theory, processes and gubbins like that, which i love. So if your into that sort of thing and are interested to know some of the designers thoughts and decisions that went into their designs then you will like it as well.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks. I think I'll get one of Eric Meyer's books and this one too!

I got it. It's quite good, but not at the $40 list price. Find it on Amazon for $25 last time I checked.

HTML Utopia Desining without tables using CSS is a good book. That's the book that got me started on my CSS journey in the first place. Even once you have finished it, it is a great reference also. Dan Cederholm's "Web standard solutions" is a good book as well. Some good techniques and tips in there. One of the best books I have read.

I know you did, I asked before in the forum if anyone had read it and you recommended it to me . Thanks for that. I finished reading it the other day and have got the hang of CSS a bit, but I still need a bit more guidance. If I design a website now I have no idea how to start it off with CSS. I've only used what I've learnt so far to create menus and other little things here and there.

Ah sorry, my bad . In which case, back to the books already suggested. The sitepoint book is a gooden. Also, maybe check out CSS Anthology also from Sitepoint. I haven't bought it but have heard some good things about it.

Thanks, I ordered the Zen garden one from Amazon. Once I finish it I'll order one of the other recommendations too. They seem to be quite good.
