I am designing a website for a high school major work, and was wondering if anyone could give their opinions on any ideas for the site. The website is for a multimedia developing company, so I was thinking the design would have to be suited for an adult audience and suit the environment. Any input in regards to legibility of the screen designs, button layout, white space, titles, fonts etc would be greatly appreciated.

Could you give us an indication of your skill level?

If it is an actual client, organize a meeting with them and discuss with them what kind of a website they are looking for, what they are looking to get out of the website and also ask them to give you an example of a website that they feel is 'successful'. Based on their comments, let your creativity take its course!

If it is a hypothetical client, scope the market for 'potential competitors' and go one better.

    Good luck.

Use common fonts for content areas.. verdana, arial are very popular and work nicely. Design for 800x600, It is still the standard resolution and probably always will be. That is about as specific as I can get, design is subjective.

Above all remember the pourpose of a website is to help your users get information. You dont want to force your users to have to learn how to use your site so keep it simple while still imposging your unique sense of style.
