    Hey,
How's it going guys. First time here so please be gentle!

    Ok my opening question:

I'm building a site (as you probally guessed it unbez.com) and i would like to do three things.

Firstly i would like to offer video's to watch and download.

Secondly, i would like to offer people the chance to upload their photos to the web and for others to leave comments.

Finally i would like to have a password protected page.

Currently i have a package which doesn't let me use ASP but i'm looking to change that very shortly.

    I greatly appreciate your time.

    Alex

So what is your question? Do you want help to accomplish those 3 things? Or are you looking for a "package" of some sort that can help you develop your website?

    BTW, welcome to WDF! :classic:

    Thankyou very much! :classic:

Well i would really like some help.

I'll concentrate on one at a time.

most importantly i would like to know how to password protect a page. I don't need a login step at the moment. I have already found a javascript that placed a password on the page but when i pressed cancel it let me into the page anyway.
Idealy i would like a form style password section.

    Thanks for the previous reply.

Don't use javascript for password protecting pages. It's easy to get around them.

You'll need to learn a server sided script such as asp, .net or php

And also you'll probably need to learn SQL for communicating with a database (which is where usernames/passwords are generally stored).
