I want to set up phpbb on my site. The way I want to do it is once someone goes on my website and logs in they can click on the forum link and automatically be log into the forum. I know that there is a way to do this but I am kind of new to web development. Can anyone help me out with this?

phpbb2 has a 'remember me' button. When the user logs in the first time they tick that box, then on further visits they are automatically logged in.

They have to log in at least once themselves, because there is no way of knowing their username and password before they log in.

There's a mod out there that does this for phpBB. Basically I think it's just using phpbb's session functions. The idea is to set a cookie that will contain data that can be used to log a user in.
