If I setup a domain to forward to a directory on my main web site will search engines index that directory information for the forwarded domain? Or will it just be a domain name thats being forwarded, no indexing? Or if someone can tell me a way I can get a forwarded domain indexed for search engines.

Domain forwarding services usually work by using frames. Search engines do not handle frames properly. It is doubtfull that they would index the site properly. You should use the DNS system to atach the domain to your web hosting account. Either buy extra hosting account, or a reseller account or get an account that offers "addon" domains or "domain parking" by DNS.

Ok, I'll explain what I have

I already have hosting with hostway, they let you register additional domains and add them to your hosting account, so the DNS is setup for my server. Once you register the domain they have domain forwarding, so you can point the domain to any web site or directory on a web site. You can do this by 'location' or by 'frame'

Location: If you select the location option, the visitor will see the address to which he/she has been forwarded to.
Frame: If you select the frame option, the visitor will only see the original domain in their address bar.

Based on my experience with domain redirects, the search engines will index your sites in the same way that they handle all other domains. We have a few domain names that are hosted on one hosting account. We submitted our domains to search engines and they are all listed.
