Now that is a can of worms . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web2.0

There is a lot of discussion about what Web 2.0 really is. The main belief is it is a way of social interaction, allowing many people to work together to build a product. Openness of data and open API's allow other companies and services to build many together, commonly referred to as mashup's.

How do you be part of it? Well the simple way is to make a service, throw in some ajax and rounded corners, not forgetting some light pastel gradients and lots of whitespace, make a product name with at least two vowels next to each other e.g. meebo, throw in some google ads and ruby-on-rails and you're done!!

G-g-g-gooooooogle, my friend. And this is what it gave me:

It's kinda sorta just the catch phrase that they're using for the way the web is evolving these days.

Yes... Web 2.0 is like the better internet. Web 1.0 was the crappy <font> tags, Web 2.0 is the nice XHTML/CSS layouts

Why don't we stop using crappy titles and just make web sites the way we see fit? That's my plan.

    • Checkbox icons
    • RSS feeds for almost everything
    • Tags, tags and more tags

Web 2.0 is a place, Web 2.0 is a state of mind...

Had to put a Boosh reference in there. Had to.

I'd say it's just a catch all phrase for the new sorts of 'social networking' sites out. It's quickly becoming a stereotype for a lot of things jbagley said. I think.

2.0 is a rehash of old technology, that's it.

According to Tim Berners-Lee there is no such thing as Web 2.0 The so called; democratisation/Socialisation of the Internet is the foundation of WWW that he created in the first place.
    End of Line.
