When making a site with a lot of product listings (30k+ products), what are some ways to organize it and list it on the webpage?

Well there a number of different wants, you can have it displayed in a table and query the pictures using php or mysql or something. Or perhaps just start out creating a table to drop all the images in, it will have them organized especially if they're resized to certain or teh same image dimensions.

You will need to use PHP and MySQL.

Any other method of storing that many items will not work very well.

There are other database options, but MySQL along with PHP offers
the most support and examples (and existing scripts).

Your best bet is to use a good shopping cart system, for all my clients I suggest OSCOMMERCE, it is an excellent shopping cart and they have many ways to list several thousand products, good luck in your new store!

what I do is create a backend design to incorporate into oscommerce then if the client wants me to add all there products thats where they get charged, if you want to add all your products then it would be a basic 5 page design cost.

it really depends on the individual really or the business creating your site. So there's not definite answer to that question really, because it all takes into account, what the person/business has to do, what languages they're going to use, how soon the project needs to be finished, etc.

Does oscommerce generate the entire site or just part of the site?
