I have started laying the ground work for a basic site that I'm making in notepad with simple HTML. www.nicktritt.com . When I am at my home computer, if I use www.nicktritt.com or nicktritt.com or nicktritt with hot keys ctrl+enter, I get a bluehost temporary page (from my web host.) If I use http://nicktritt.com with no www I can see my page. I have been on the blue host forums and other people said they can see my site fine in every URL format. I am a newbie and was wondering if anyone had any ideas whats going on. Could it be my browser? I'm running windows xp media center with explorer. Thanks everyone!

Works from here. Clear your web browser's cache.

Yes, I did think of that one and I just deleted the files again and used a new window but www.nicktritt.com just kicks to http://www.nicktritt.com/ and shows the bluehost temporary page as if there is no page yet. Any other possibilities?

If it's a new domain, you might have to wait a day or two for DNS settings to take effect.

Well, I've had the domain for a week now. The last update of my index.html was this morning. *update* Ok, http://www.nicktritt.com/index.html works for me now if I have that index.html in there, but without it, just www.nicktritt.com still doesn't show.

Make your life easier and use a programmer's editor (like Notepad++ or Crimson Editor or something), not notepad...

Notepad works fine........oh wait, it isn't 1997 anymore.
I can say that Notepad++ works pretty good, I have used that.

    Good luck with your site........

Oh, come on! 1997 was a good year. Thanks for all the input everyone. I see my site in all URL formats now.

I swear by PSPad, but it's Windows only.
The amazing editor has HTML, XHTML, JS, CSS, PHP, RoR, C++, SQL, and other highlighting modes... Code suggestions... Auto completions (shift+space!), a built in FTP browser/uploader ("Save to FTP"), a code explorer, auto-format HTML, convert to XHTML, and bucketload of other awesome features, like optional spell checking, etc., etc., etc.
