Interesting use of AJAX. Sounds like a great way to improve UIs, but what's the price?

both, as well as price of users not liking it (various privacy issues may arise), as well as system resources.

From a webmaster's perspective, ignoring the technical aspects, it is very appealing because you know exactly how to improve your site (do they spend a long time with the mouse idle before they all click a certain location? Then make that location more obvious). From an end-user perspective, I don't want peope watching me like that.

Yeah, the privacy issue is definitely huge. The biggest fear I have from a webmaster perspective is, what if people find out about this and then decide the solution is to turn Javascript off? And by `people' I mean a lot of people.

Almost a double edge sword. Sure, it can help with UI, trends, etc........but you're right people might be turned off by it.
No way to have it without the whole Big Brother effect.
Plus, I run into enough conspiracy theorists, so I don't need them thinking I'm working with "The Man".......hahaha
