Have you ever been to a website similar to a newspaper, where you have a mass of linked articles.
Let's say the site is called:
Any link would send you to, except one or two that would send you to some commercial site www.buyourstuff.spam

Whenever you read any of the, you can always press the 'back' button in your browser, to get back to the previous page.
    Not so with the www.buyourstuff.spam.
When you click the 'back' button accompanied by the audial 'click' tone, you immediately hear a second 'click', and you are rerouted back to www.buyourstuff.spam

If you rapidly click the 'back' button, you hear a parallell double click sound, taking you back to the spam page.

Is this some javascript malware script, and is there anyway you can shield yourself against it?

Javascript, I believe. Firefox, at least, is smart enough that it can detect some of those.

I just use the arrow next to the Back button in such circumstances...which makes it no less lame.
