Hi all, I am extremely new to the wed design/developmet world. I am trying to transfer between departments in my company, and my potential new boss has already asked me to present something to her - posted below:
Put together a process to monitor the quality of all Intranet/Internal web pages (350+ ) on a monthly basis. Quality encompasses low utilization, missing metadata, incorrect spelling, broken links, incorrect formatting, missing items, etc. Be prepared to discuss your process as well as how you went about putting the process together.
I feel a little overwhelmed because she expects this by thursday, and I am not even in the position yet. I'd really appreciate some ideas from all of you. Unfortunately, I have no idea what systems and reporting they have available. So say, I dont know if they have a link checker or validator that would automate that process.
Any thoughts and ideas you could give me would be great !

Two days for something like that, especially for a new person, is crazy. Best bet would be to buy one off the shelf, but they're expensive. Try searching for "web marketing quality" or something.

Well I would say that she asked you this because she expects the person to take the job to be able to this... mind you 2 days is a bit extreme but still. If you don't even know how their systems works or how to start ... no offense but isn't that telling you something?

I dont know what systems they have because I am not in that department. I am currently in finance - we have no overlap. This is an extremely large company.
I have other skills - db, analysis, web etc from an old job, but never had this exact type of role before. And of course, its been about 3 years since I did anything remotely similar.
My issue is that to me, a software program could do most of what she's asking me to do. So what exactly am I explaining? What "process" am I building? I dont know. I have a bunch of ideas thrown down in bullet points already, I just felt like this was a bit extreme to ask of someone as a "final interview" test so to speak.

    Thanks for the feedback...
