    Hello all im new here and also to web design its-self I know HTML/XHTML/CSS, but I am having real problems trying to get something to work. I shall explain I am creating a web site using Dreamweaver and it has a table that is spilt into one collumn that has a rowspan of 3, then the 3 rows down the middle, then another collloumn the same as the first. I have set the vertical alignments to top. I insert a gif I tell it to float left and clear both in css. I then go to put some text using a heading tag as I have a css class for this tag and I am horrified that the text drops below the picture, what I want to know is am I doing something wrong...? If so please help.

    You'd do better to post some code. Though I'll mention that using tables with CSS, both for layout, can give... Strange results.

    Ok here is the code where it shows differently in the 2 browsers.

    HTML Code:
    <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="5" class="articletb">
    <tr>
          <td rowspan="3" class="articlem"><img src="Index.jpg" class="index" alt="index.jpg" />
            <h2 style="text-align:right"><br  />
          <span class="bodle" style="text-align:right"></span></h2>
          <p style="text-align:justify">
          </td>
          <td class="articles"><h2><br />
            <span class="bodjus"></span></h2>
            <p align="left"></p>
          </td>
          <td rowspan="3" class="other">Other Magic Websites
          <ul>
          <li><a href="http://www.magicthegathering.com">Magic the Gatering</a></li>
          <li><a href="http://www.thedci.com">The DCI</a></li>
          <li><a href="htttp://www.brainburst.com">Brainburst</a></li></ul></td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
        <td class="articles"><h2>MTGO Week 1<br  />
        <span class="bodjus">by MTGO Monkey</span></h2>
          <p align="left">MTGO Monkeys online woes. </p></td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
        <td class="articles"><h2>Casual Magic<br />
        <span class="bodjus">by Sapphire Rose</span></h2>
        <p align="left">Casual tech with Sapphire brains and beauty.</p></td>
        </tr>
    </table>
    And here is the CSS file.

    Code:
    .articlem {border-bottom-style:solid; border-bottom-width:medium; border-left-style:solid; border-left-width:medium; border-color:#CCCCCC; vertical-align:text-top; width:320px; height:164px}
    .articles {border-bottom-style:solid; border-bottom-width:medium; border-left-style:solid; border-left-width:medium; border-color:#CCCCCC; vertical-align:text-top; width:320px; height:91}
    Please help me if there is something I am not doing

    The only differences I see are text sizes and the display of the header, is anything else awry?

    I cannot find in the code above any information on the header image, nor the text for the whole page, forgive me for not having any insight on that.

    Generally, I set a font-family and text-size on the body in my CSS. That will resolve your text size disparity.

    Dcscene the reason its not included is that its not what/where the problem is I have cut it so its easier to see where I am refrencing to instead of you guys trying to trull through non significant HTML/CSS coding. Also I already have a body CSS(not included in above) that is setup to my pages defaults.

    Careful with that assumption. You'd be surprised what odd behavior can arise from a single element being in or out.

    Shadowfiend I can't see how that could be possible when the top half (Banner, Links, Intro is one table. And the table with the articles etc is a new table.
