    Hey,

I'm trying to get more into webdesign, so far simple modern designs are easy to do.
But I was wondering how one can make templates as the one below.

So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks for your time, Xeross

That's going to be seriously hard to make.

That site was done by a professional.

Spend a few years in Photoshop, and then have a go.

If you try to do that now, it will look terrible.

I can't say as I've done that exact style, but for something similar -- here's my comic book style illustration page.

There are a variety of techniques. One is to sketch, by hand, then bring it onto the computer for refinement.

In other words, illustration is not the same thing as PhotoShop operation. There's no "medieval illustration" item in the dropdowns. You can "know" PhtoShop and know absolutely nothing about illustration technique.

You might be able to get part way there by searching the internet for free textures and free backgrounds etc - maybe some might have a parchment/gothic/fantasy element to them? For example the content section of the website looks like it might have some sort of parchment texture?
