Amazingly, in the years I've been designing and building websites, I've only been asked to add a search engine one or two times.

The last time I did it, I used Googles freebee. (a couple years ago)
That doesn't seem to be available any more. The client is a non-profit, so I'll check with Google to see if they still make their free site search available for that type of organization.

In the mean time, I've started looking around for another solution and just wondered if anyone out there had any suggestions, or experience with an easy to install, comprehensive search engine. Free would be best, (again, this is a non-profit) but if it's cheap and works, any idea would be welcome.

    Thanks.

    Addendum:
    I just found this: http://www.google.com/coop/cse/
This may solve my problems, but again, always looking for solutions so, if anyone has a better alternative, I'd still appreciate it. Thanks.

Sign up for an adsense account

    and then look at

    "Adsense for search"

This also gives them the ability to earn ad revenue when people click on ads shown from the search
